The middle aqueous layer gives moisture and provides oxygen with other important nutrients to the cornea. This layer is mostly made of water alongside with little portion of salt, proteins and other amalgams. The exterior lipid layer is an oily coat that seals the tear on the eye and assists us to prevent evaporation.
